Few misconceptions about Sanskrit

Sanskrit is one of the most ancient language, and the language of almost all sacred texts of Hinduism and Buddhism. Many other texts have been written in Sanskrit, so its importance can never  be neglected. To understand history and cultural evolution of Indian subcontinent, profound knowledge of Sanskrit is required. But, scholars of Sanskrit go beyond this. With the widespread dominance of scientific developments, they are trying to prove Sanskrit as the most scientific language. In this article, I will try to write about few misconceptions about Sanskrit.
Sanskrit is language of supercomputer
What is the language of computer? I don’t know, which device you are using, but I guess, many texts in your device setting are in English. Also you are reading this article in English. But the device you are using does not understand English. Computer uses special language of mathematics which is also known as binary numbers. Whatever instructions are given to the computer, first it converts to numbers, (you can see ASCII code in picture) and stores the data. Whenever the user tries to retrieve the code, again it translates the binary numbers to the texts we can understand using same ASCII symbols. The translation is not visible or observable by user, so they can conclude that the language of compute is English, but actually it is mathematics. So even if output language of computer becomes Sanskrit, computer will use Numbers as its language.
Sanskrit will be used for interstellar communication
One specialty of Sanskrit is , meaning of sentences does not get altered even if order of words is changed. In English, “Father feeds baby” or  “ Baby feeds father will give different meaning in English but in Sanskrit, alteration of words will not change the meaning of sentence. But some Sanskrit enthusiast claim that Sanskrit is the best language for long distance communication. Their claim is, on long distance communication, the words get altered and message will be corrupted, and Sanskrit can resolve this problem. But reality is, as I have already mentioned, entire information technology is based on numbers, so the alteration will be with mathematics, which can produce different alphabets, and can affect any language. To resolve this, computer engineers has developed a special system that send same data for at least ten times and if it analyzes the transmitted data. For example, if nine data stream contains 0 but one stream contains 1 than it will interpret the data as 0, which can easily resolve the data transmission issue.
Sanskrit is taught in German university because of its scientific importance
This is what  Harvard tells about its Sanskrit program. They run Sanskrit program as a part of south Asian studies

Yeah, first part  is so true. Sanskrit is taught in many universities across the globe. But, it is  being taught as a part of Indology or South Asian studies. According to Harvard university “Indeed to be a South Asian intellectual was to be a master of Sanskrit, not merely to be fluent in it but to understand the rigorous linguistic underpinnings of the language as well as to absorb the complex theories of aesthetics and hermeneutics that govern Sanskrit texts. “
Sanskrit as south Asian studies or Indian study

Another German university “ludwig-maximilians-universität münchen”  writes in its intoducory page “The field of Indian studies addresses the cultural and historical development of southern Asia from the beginnings of human history into the contemporary age. It adapts a primarily literary and linguistic approach, applying philological and historical methods to the cultural study of the written sources of southern Asia. Sanskrit, the traditional language of India, is taught in a regular two-semester introductory course. When necessary, students can also study the central Indian languages (Pāli, Ardhamāgadhī, Gāndhārī). The contemporary languages of India—Hindi, Urdu and Kannada—are part of the regular offerings, as well. Bengali, Tamil and Telugu are also taught when necessary. At the Institute in Munich there is a cooperation in research and teaching with Tibetology, with the Academy project Buddhist Manuscripts from Gandhāra as well as with the Doctoral Program in Buddhist Studies.”
So it is almost evident that, foreign universities are not teaching Sanskrit to understand science of Vedas or Upanisads. Their goal is to understand the root language of south Asia, which will help them to understand south Asia.
All university across Globe run Sanskrit program as a part of south Asian studies

Sanskrit is being studied by NASA
It is one of the most hilarious statement which I have ever heard. In Nepal or India, most of the laypersons know only one research institute, NASA. According to them, NASA predicts earthquake, make vaccines for COVID19 and study Sanskrit. But, NASA is space agency, which studies about space, and some earth related issues which can be done from outer space only. And similar to  NASA  there is Indian space agency ISRO. If Sanskrit had such importance in space research ISRO could have already used it in there research, but no one  talks about it, maybe because they never knew ISRO existed.
Sun produces  sound  "OM"
I found no article in Official NASA website regarding their research on Sanskrit
I don’t have to say anything about this. I had searched in the official site of NASA, and there is no relevant result , which mean NASA never detected such sounds.
I personally respect Sanskrit as a great language but I believe that beyond its philosophical, linguistic and phonetic uses, it is not more important than other language. If you know some other misconception about this language please leave a comment.

How to utilize lockdown time. Few advice for students

Because of  lockdown, we all are stuck at our home. And we have almost started feeling bored, right? Our schools are closed, even in this long holidays, we are not allowed to go out and meet friends. We have started to realize that watching LED screen every time does not feel good. Schools have started online classes but it is  very difficult to grasp everything because of poor internet connection. It  seems that time has just stopped at this moment. But it is not true for everyone. Some of the kids of your age are utilizing this time to hone their skills in which they are passionate.

Today, we are the global citizen. That mean we have to be best in global scale. Pubg  is famous in almost every countries, but you may not know any good game produced by the developer of your country. We use facebook, twitter , instagram, youtube or blogger as Im using to post this blog, but almost no  social media produced by any web designer of your country, you might be using. This means only one thing, in such globalized world, you must be exceptionally good in your field to surpass any limitations. You  are little bit lucky because you got a long break from your school or college to explore your passion and work o it. Which was almost impossible for previous years. So you can something extra to shape your better future.

Books

Almost all good entrepreneurs are passionate reader. You may not believe this because, it is taught that Bill gates was college dropout and Bla Bla Bla. But it is never told that they left college because they did not find their college was useful But surprisingly Bill gates recently uploaded one video recommending five good books. In other words, he is a passionate reader. Similarly great leaders or entrepreneur reads books to broaden their views. So it is wise to read books, if you don’t get sleepy during reading.

Movies

Watching movies can broaden your mind. I’m not talking about some Bollywood movies which do not have any particular views except entertainment. But there are some good movies which can brainstorm the thinking of any person watching those movies. A good site for recommending better movies is Imdb, which have listed best movies of different genres. Among those movies, few could be found in Youtube or Netflix, or can be downloaded from peer sharing network such as torrent.

Music or Arts

As there is plenty of time, it is right time to learn basic skills or learn sophisticated skills in different forms of arts such as music or painting.

Programming?

Everyone knows, information technology is encompassing all the fields and very soon, every field will be within the grasp of such technology. Every field in upcoming generation will demand a good command of data analysis. To be a perfect data analyst, excellency in programming language is required. Few programming languages are taught in school but they are not sufficient or outdated. So this is the optimum time to learn any programming language. Codeacademy might be a good choice to learn programming language. Just you need to sign up and choose any course, it will start to give concept and instructions, and few tasks to be done, which will make programming language really easier.

Online courses

Naaaahhhh……. It might be your reaction, if you are fed up by the online courses provided by your school or college, but there are really  better online courses, which encompasses courses beyond your curriculum, which may match your passion. So why not utilize this time by taking some online courses from coursara or edx.

Content creating

If you are really creative, you can create youtube videos or write blogs. If your content is good enough, sooner or later, you will start making money from it.

If you are doing some other activities, you can post in comment box

Is gotra system scientific

Actually I wanted to write this article on 2015. Before completing the articles i tried to add more information on it so I googled some beliefs about gotra system. And I found one article , which claimed that gotra system does not violate modern theory of genetics. According to that article,  Y-chromosome of male get transferred only to son, so  gotra system is scientific.  It took me five more year to study and build confidence to complete this article.

What is Gotra system.

According to Hindu belief, every person  belongs to a lineage of particular Rishi ( Hindu apostle ). Every lineages are given  a particular Gotra, Generally name of that particular Rishi, and it is strictly prohibited to get married within same gotra system.  Such gotra are unique for a particular family name, but sometime two or more than two family names can have same gotra. And if gotra is not found,  they can use a gotra "kashyap". Since Gotra is based on family name, father and son share same gotra but daughter will use gotra of her husband after marriage.  So, we can see, gotra is based on the male lineages.

Is is good to marry with a person sharing same gotra
People believe that it is amoral  to marry with a person with same gotra. And as I mentioned in the beginning,  some people are trying to justify gotra system from scientific points of view. Their claim is y-chromosome is always transferred to male lineages only without a single audeltration. This statement is very true and it helps anthropologists to study about lineages and even some scientists can use them to find interrelationships between homo sapiens and other species too. But, from the point of view of marriage , it is totally useless.
Even your siblings will not have y chromosome
since y-chromosomes, is transferred only to male children, female siblings will not have the y-chromsome. If marriage within same gotra is formidable because of the Y-chromosome, brothers and sisters are eligible to marry, on the basis of gotra system.

But there are other chromosomes too
It has been found scientifically that, whenever a person produces a gamet a minor mutation occurs. If you are unknown about mutation, it is sudden change in chromosomes which creates some defects in your body. If  marriage is done  with own siblings,  both gametes will share same mutation of your parents ad well; resulting more mutation and there is high chances of having abnormal offspring. But If marriage is done with a person who doesn't share same genetic history,  there will be  mutation iwhichn different genes, which can be cancelled by another normal gene, so possible abnormalities are minimized . So it is better to avoid a person with chose genetic history.
So what about gotra.
A child gets half genes from father and half from mother.  Again if child produces another child , the new child will have only half genes,  from his each parents so he/she will have only 25% genes from grandparents. It will decrease in similar trend and after ten or fifteen generations,  there will be negligible portions of the ancestors gene. To be more specific,  after fifteen generation,  the gene will be depleted to 0.0030517578 percent. Let's take another example from maternal branch.  Generally maternal branches are forgotten after four or five generations. But in five generation, still there will be 3.125 present gene. If genetic theory is taken into consideration,  it is wise to marry with a person who share less portion of gene. But gotra system does just the opposite.
So so you still believe in gotra system?

Why do I write.

I’m not a wise person. I do not have any courage to say anyone to read anything what I have written. It is because, after so many years of expressing myself in different platforms, I have realized that I lack in depth knowledge, and I have no any original ideas.  My expressions are generally the impressions I got from different sources, which I have encountered till  now and instead of reading my writings, you can just search for those original sources and get more authentic information.  But there are some reasons, I will never stop writing. It is directly linked with my lifestyle. If you know me personally than you surely know that I’m introvert and antisocial person. And, instead of spending hours with friends, I prefer to stay at home learn something new. This habit had taken me to various places you may never imagine. I have been a member of ISKCON, OM Shanti. I have practiced meditation of Osho and Manokranti movement. I have been  a member of church and definitely I visited Mosque so many times wearing typical Muslim costumes. I have practiced almost everything in pursuit of truth. So, whenever I write, it will reflect the state of my mind of that particular moment. And when I look back to my life, it will help me to memorize and to feel every moment of the path I had taken. So, you will find me as a pure devotee in one place and staunch atheist in another place. Which will never sound logical, but it has happened with my life. I want to record everything of this interesting journey, so I will write every time whenever I felt something new. And definitely I will write.
